PIERCING

aftercare.

  • Wash Hands and Clean

With clean hands, clean the piercing daily or as needed. Here are a few options to care for your new piercing:

Option 1: Bactine - twice a day, saturate a Q-tip and clean both front and back of the piercing (Bactine is an antiseptic and has 5% Lidocane so it kills bacteria and helps numb the area).

Option 2: Gentle Cleanser (Dove Sensitive is a great option): twice a day, saturate a Q-tip with water and gentle cleanser and clean the front and back of the piercing, then rinse with water (Use salt water/saline solution as additional aftercare).

  • DO NOT SUBMERGE

Do not submerge a healing piercing in a lake, pool, or hot tub.

  • DO NOT TOUCH

Do not touch or pick on dried discharge. Avoid touching the healing piercing all together unless you are cleaning it.

  • Healing Times

    Lobes: 4-6 weeks
    Helix/Cartilage: 4 months - 1 year
    Conch: 4 months - 1 year
    Tragus: 6-8 weeks
    Nose: 6-8 weeks

Healing times can vary from person to person.

  • In case of infection...

Notify your doctor right away if you see green discharge or the area of piercing gets more sensitive instead of healing.
